...which is tried and tested. From the team behind The Shapes Toolkit and the You Are Not a Frog podcast (who know exactly what it's like to work in healthcare) and which ACTUALLY makes a difference.
...and beat burnout. With training that's highly relevant and specifically designed for those working on the frontline, covering topics such as taking control of your workload, managing stress and anxiety and how to be happy at work.
...due to stress - by addressing topics including self-care, time management and mental fitness. And by equipping Wellbeing Leads with the resources they need to promote workplace wellbeing.
Getting people in a room for in-person training is costly, challenging, and doesn’t always feel “worth it” for the time it takes out of people’s work days.
Staff can end up feeling patronised or blamed by well-meaning advice delivered by people who have no experience of working in healthcare, and that doesn’t take into account their challenging roles.
The system is stretched and a culture of overwork and exhaustion is tricky to turn around with “generic” wellbeing advice. We know that people in caring professions are more likely to suffer from burnout – and often feel intensely guilty about putting themselves first…
and yet, the high rates of stress, exhaustion and burnout impact everyone – from teams struggling to maintain staff levels and morale, to service users and patients when staff are exhausted and overwhelmed.
Many organisations have appointed wellbeing leads in their departments and practices but often these wellbeing leads feel unsupported, worried they might do the wrong thing, and don't have the resources they need to make a difference.
That's why we created the Work Well Programme. It's been running since October 2023, and now includes added resources and support for your wellbeing leads.
In 2023-24, Wellbeing was finally included in the NHS Quality Outcomes Framework (QOF) for General Practice. We’re thrilled to see formal acknowledgment of how important it is to take care of the staff who deliver such extraordinary work every day.
The “Wellbeing Quality Improvement Toolkit” is a complete training toolkit consisting of:
It’s designed to be delivered in practice and PCN meetings by team members, practice managers or wellbeing champions, allowing your Practices and PCNs to deliver and meet the wellbeing QoF indicators.
More importantly (and even if your particular practice or department doesn’t need to meet the QoF Wellbeing Outcomes) it will set your practices and teams up with tools and habits that will make a lasting difference to their wellbeing.
